Past Garage Vol. 2 - 1994 Ford Taurus SHO

My friend Justin had a 1993 White Taurus SHO when we were in high school, and I really loved that car. It was affordable speed - quick for what it was, with lower teenager insurance. I must have read shoforum.com every day for years, learning all about these wonderful machines with Yamaha built V6s. Secondary intake runners! 220 HP! I worked at Don Wall and Scoopys all summer to save up for one - I almost bought a silver MTX, but ended up with a green ATX. I learned a valuable lesson - I bought the car with almost all my savings, but then found out it needed some work. I think I paid around $4500 for it, and then put $700 into it. I took it to college Junior year, I remember being active on shoforum, and going to different meet ups - the Newport Rally sticks out in my mind. Rear ending another SHO during that Rally - but only slightly tapping him, no damage, no cops. Having Ricky Frat install his MA Audio system in it - in his driveway in Providence. That shit banged hard! 2 12's on 800 watts - with Infinity speakers too. Playing Con Ti Partiro for my dad in the driveway. The softball breaking it's rear window glass in the PC parking lot. The check engine light driving home that scared me. The SHO plate in the head unit space; filling in the SHO letters with the silver vinyl. I loved the Slicer wheels - 16s seemed big at the time - but I wanted those Cobra 17s. I really remember how fast it felt compared to the Blazer - I thought it was a real hot rod for sure. It had nice leather seats and a ton of power features. The transmission shifted funny - I sometimes think what would have happened if I had gotten the silver MTX mentioned above instead - because the shitty transmission made me worried, and I ended up with the Wrangler because of it. I saw it a few years after I sold it at the Shelton Corporate Park garage; dude said he didn't do anything to it and never did a tranny rebuilt.  This was really my first car that I owned, that was really mine to make my own. I had it for about a year before I "push, pull, or drag"ed it in to  get $2500 as a trade in on the Wrangler.
