The Luckiest Sand Dollar

How!?!? LOL. I found a sand dollar in front of Surfside randomly. The woman was flabbergasted and needed to take a picture - she said she has never found one, and never heard of anyone finding one in that spot.

So what'; special about me, and why did I find it? I looked it up, this is fun to think about!

Sand dollars symbolize luck, prosperity, spiritual transformation, and peace. Popular folklore deeply ties them to ancient myths, oceanic magic, and the Christian faith, making these bleached exoskeletons highly prized beachcombing treasures.

Mythological & Spiritual Symbolism
  • Mermaid Coins: Folklore often describes sand dollars as lost coins dropped by mermaids or citizens of the mythical city of Atlantis. Finding an unbroken one symbolizes great wealth and good fortune.
  • Resilience & Rebirth: The sand dollar’s life involves being buried, moved by currents, and shedding its outer layers. This represents shedding old identities, surviving tough times, and emerging with inner strength.
Christian Symbolism (The Legend of the Sand Dollar)

  • The Star: The five-pointed star on the top symbolizes the Star of Bethlehem. The outline on the back is often compared to an Easter lily or poinsettia, representing the birth and resurrection of Christ.
  • The Wounds: The four outer holes represent the four nail wounds, and the center hole represents the spear wound from the crucifixion.
  • The Doves: When a dried sand dollar is gently shaken or broken, the five tiny jaw pieces inside rattle loose. Legend dictates these resemble white doves, symbolizing peace, goodwill, and the Holy Spirit

Rebirth? FUCK YEAH. Tattoo time LOL.

The concept of the sun, and being a light bearer. I bear the light of christ, its my name. I got the sun tarot card today. the birth and resurrection - coming back after a change.
